Oct 5  - Dave Harrison Same report as yesterday, but the fish got bigger....many over 11 inches, near the helo pad, they came in waves and a few boats stopped, and left after 5 mins...they should have stayed longer.  Small minnows again. 32fow

Oct 4  - Dave Harrison  Colchester today near helo pad...minnows on a walleye rig (SMALL minnows).  70 perch, 2 guys, 3 hours...all over 8 inches with 5-7 real jumbos.  Only sorted a few small ones. the bite was light, and a light action rod was the ticket...slow lift and they could not resist. What a great calm day....be out again tomorrrow.

Oct 1  - John Sparkman  Hello I'm back! Had 3 weeks of salmon fishing Manistee Lake lots of fun. 9-30 Yesterday by Edison we got 9 lost two on # 7 hot steel

Sept. 29 - Danny Bloxsom Went perch fishing with Jerry Hinton on the 27th for the the perch tournament and did we catch them! Over 100!  I had a blast. Thanks, Jerry and Greg Warsow, for putting on a great tournament.

Sept. 29 - Jamie VanEngelen Sun, Sept 27th went to Colchester for the perch due to the reports from other DWF members. Good report -  3 of us limited in very short time.  15 lbs cleaned.. thanks to the DWF. (DW&PF)????

Sept. 23 - Mike Barkley  Went with Jerry Hinton, Greg Warsow & Mike "Tripleheader" Pasik.  Fished Colchester, general area of the mile marker 25-28 FOW .  Had to move around but ended up with 103 perch.  Not true "Jumbo's" but pretty nice fish.  Jerry nailed it when he said "Beautiful day on the water with good friends and catching fish!  It just doesn't get any better than that!!"

Sept. 22 - Greg Warsow  Sunday - Back to Colchester perchin' with Bob Clark & John Lewandowski.  Good ride to first spot and wind kicked up.  Had a hard time holding anchor.  Made the ride to the mile marker and saw a couple more DWF members there.  Slow bite but size was quality yellowbelly's.  Bite was also very soft.  Shiner's were the ticket.  Wind calmed down but was all over the place.  Lots of flies & bees.  Ended up with 64 perch for 35 lbs gross.  Bite was turning on about 4 pm. as we left but I think it may be a better afternoon bite.  These three amigo's were very happy with the day and quality of fish.

Sept. 22 - Greg Warsow   Saturday - To Colchester perchin' with Jerry Hinton, Bob Clark & John Lewandowski. Second or third stop acting steady but not on fire. Size less than 10 inches. Ended up with 80 perch for 21 lbs gross and 10 lbs net. Good day, good weather and good friends.

Sept 22 - Paul Jocks  Fished Sunday 9/21 near weather buoy in front of Lake Erie Metropark between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM in 12-14 FOW.  Anchored and didn't move.  Kept 50 perch between two of us.  Threw back several small ones and kept a few too (either me or the seagulls).  Several doubles, many over 9" and 6-12"+ with one at 14".  Also fished Saturday near the 3 buoys and the weather buoy and kept 12 over 9".  Had to switch spots a few times to keep catching perch.  Water clear but a little weedy.  Forgot the most important part, they were biting mostly on chartreuse blade perch rigs with chartreuse beads tipped with shiners large or small.  Small gold blades with orange beads worked when chartreuse didn't.

Sept 21 - John Watson Partly sunny, air temperature @80 degrees, water temperature @ 68 degrees with waves two feet or less. On Saturday, September 20, 2008 I fished with Mike Cornnachia, John Wisniewski, Ann Gamacchia & Sheryl Klingbiel between Fermi and Stoney Point in 23-26 FOW. When we got to Stoney Point, there was a huge armada of boats(100 + boats) perch fishing. We started fishing with the pack of boats but nobody was catchin' much fish. We relocated several times looking for fish. We fished from 10:30 pm to 4:30 pm. The bite was slow today. The lake was very turbid or churned up from all the rain we got last week from the remnants of Hurricane Ike in Michigan. The perch started biting about 12:30 pm today. We only took home 36 perch at 8-12 inches(ok, we kept a few small perch too). Tossed back a lot of small perch less than 7 inches.  5 white perch (silver bass), 3 channel catfish and one monster 24 inch drum (aka sheepshead or goat). We were using minnows and nightcrawler chunks with perch spreaders with chartreuse, green, silver, gold, hot pink, white and orange spinners with red beaded snelled hooks. Basically threw everything but the kitchen sink at em today. Got 2 pounds of perch filets in the ice box. Great time had by all even though the fishin was slow! According to my good friend, Captain Tim, the jumbo yellow perch should be in the Michigan waters of the Western Basin of Lake Erie around early/mid-October / early November. Hope the information helps! LOL. Good luck fellow anglers!

Sept 19 - John Watson  On Saturday, August 30, 2008 I fished with William Doepker and John Watson IV off Stoney Point in 23 FOW. Took home 19 perch at 8-10 inches. Tossed back a lot of small perch less than 7 inches. Using minnows with perch spreader with chartreuse, green and orange spinners with red beaded snelled hooks. We fished from 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm and quickly ran out of bait in two hours! Great time had by all!

Sept 19 - John Watson  On Saturday, September 6, 2008 I fished with Mike Cornnachia, John Wisniewski & Sheryl Klingbiel between Fermi and Stoney Point in 23 FOW. When we got to Stoney Point, there was a small armada of boats perch fishing. Everyone except us had moved further out by 12:00 pm. We fished from 10:30 pm to 7:30 pm. The perched started biting about 12:30 pm and never stopped biting the rest of the day. We took home 118 perch at 8-11 inches. Tossed back a lot of small perch less than 7 inches.  31 white perch. A 3 man limit was only missed by one fish because we ran out of bait! We caught numerous shad up to 8 lbs. We were using minnows and nightcrawler chunks with perch spreader with chartreuse, green, silver, gold and orange spinners with red beaded snelled hooks.  We never moved all day! Great time had by all! 21 lbs of perch live weight = 9 pounds of perch fillets! The fish fry was awesome and fed 15 people!

Sept 10 - Jerry Hinton  and Tom Taylor headed towards Colchester for the first perch trip of the year this AM. About halfway between Holiday Beach and Colchester (Middle #'s N59/W03)in 25 fow we sat down to check things out and drink some coffee. I saw serious bottom activity on my Lowrance and we decided to give it a try. We never moved!!! We brought home 83 perch and must have thrown back a 100 dinks. We ran out of minnows. Also a smallie and 2 sheeps. Minnows and hooks with spinners did the job today. Our perch were between 7-10".
